The third way is quite a long process, so I need you to follow me all through
Step 1: Enter Safe Mode and before you do anything, disconnect your PC from the internet, and don’t use it untl
you’re ready to clean your PC. This can help prevent the virus from leaking your personal fles. Afer ensuring this,
boot your PC into Microsof’s Safe Mode. In this mode, only the minimum required programs and services are
loaded. If any virus is set to load automatcally when Windows starts, entering in this mode may prevent it from
doing so. This is important because it can make removing the infected fles easier since they’re not currently
running. Sadly, the process of bootng into safe mode, a relatvely easy process in Windows 7 and Windows 8 is
now one that is more complicated in Windows 10 . To boot into Windows Safe Mode, frst click the Start buton in
Windows 10 and select the Power buton as if you were going to reboot, but don’t click anything Now, hold down
the Shif key and click “Reboot”. When the full-screen menu shows, select troubleshootng, then Advanced
Optons, then Startup Setngs. On the next window, click the Restart buton and wait for the next screen to
appear. Next, you will see a menu with numbered startup optons. Here, select number 4, which is Safe Mode.
Note: if you want to connect to any online scanners you’ll need to select opton 5, which is Safe Mode with
Networking. Yoou may fnd that your PC runs markedly quicker in Safe Mode. This could signify that your system
has a viral infecton, or it could mean that you have a lot of legitmate programs that normally start up alongside
Windows. If your PC is outited with a solid-state drive it’s possibly fast either way.
Step 2: Delete temporary fle. Now that your system has entered Safe Mode, you’ll want to run a virus scan. But
before doing that, delete all temporary fles. This may speed up the virus scanning as the process is usually very
slow. Free up disk space, and even get rid of some of the malware. Use the Disk Cleanup utlity included with
Windows 10 by typing Disk Cleanup in the search bar or afer pressing the Start buton and select the tool that
appears named Disk Cleanup.
Step 3: Download malware scanner. If you had disconnected from the internet for safety reasons when you frst
notced that you might be infected, reconnect to it so you can download, install, and update Malwarebytes; then
disconnect from the internet again before startng the actual scanning. Afer you download Malwarebytes, install
it by running the setup fle and follow the wizard to install the program. Once the program opens, it will
automatcally actvate a trial of the paid version that enables real-tme scanning. Yoou won’t get charged afer the
trial ends, however, the program reverts to the standard free version in 14 days. Run a scan using this applicaton
to be totally sure of your victory over the malware.
